Purchasing Strategy
The purchasing strategy must ensure the optimum supply of materials and services to the company and – derived from the company policy – take economic and ecological aspects into account. The strategy must be able to exploit the opportunities provided by the procurement markets in the best possible way (comparing prices, opening up new markets).
In order to be able to ensure the material supply of the main materials we use, (materials subject to shortages), we have concluded supply contracts or framework contracts, respectively, with our suppliers. We generally have at least two suppliers for these materials. We follow this strategy in order to be able to ensure permanent availability and to counteract any dependence on suppliers or prices. A further advantage is that there is the possibility to change in case of fluctuations in quality.
Building stable and reliable relationships with our suppliers is an essential factor in order to continually improve the quality of our products, to reduce the costs and environmental effects as well as developing new production processes together. Only in the understanding that we have a partnership aimed at adding value can ensure the long-term success for suppliers and customers.
