On the way to the top with MAT – Successful beginning of apprenticeship 2010

The company could welcome 12 new apprentices for the Year 2010 – and they want to make their way to the top with MAT.

Six foundry mechanics specializing in machine moulding, two industrial mechanics, two electronics technicians specializing in operating technology and two industrial clerks could prove their aspiration for the top on the 08/12/2010, four days prior to the start of their apprenticeship during a teambuilding exercise in the AbenteuerPark Homburg.

Shortly after being welcomed by the training supervisors Axel Bittes, Udo Guth and Markus Johann as well as human resources manager Thomas Hoffmann they participated in a training for interactional improvement under the guidance of an AbenteuerPark instructor. The apprentices faced exciting tasks that could only be solved by communication, cooperation and team-oriented strategies. The training supervisors proved that they wouldn't let their apprentices down, neither in the Abenteuerpark nor in the company, by partaking fully in the solution of the tasks and navigating the obstacle course with them.

The sky cleared up and the rain ceased during the lunch break in which the group members deepened their acquaintance subsequent to an introductory game.

The group entered the forest refreshed and fitted with climbing gear. The instructor explained in detail the climbing and safety techniques and after passing the training course the participants spread quickly over the six different courses of the area which could satisfy any preferences. Climbing, Tarzan swings and balancing acts in vertiginous heights presented thrilling adventures culminating in two zip lines spanning the Jaegersburg pond. Even in the tree tops, team spirit was of the utmost importance for everyone. Although the courses could be passed single-handedly they proved to be substantially less challenging if assisted by word and deed. Whenever group members had a little break they still cheered the climbers on and provided hints when needed.

The event in the AbenteuerPark Homburg was a thorough success. Apprentices and  training supervisors had an opportunity to get to know each other and to develop team spirit which is the foundation of a successful apprenticeship.
